When touring with one of the hottest pop acts on the planet, you can live a life of luxury, filling your 19" racks with the noblest and most expensive outboard gear – or so you might think. But if you're checking the FoH setup of the current PINK "Funhouse" live production, you will realize that the only piece of analogue hardware is a DTC channel strip from MindPrint!

Sound Engineer Chris Madden thought carefully when he chose the equipment he needed for the tour – and ended up with just the DTC!
Chris: "I love this unit! It is my swiss army knife, I can use it on just about anything. Although the production is controlled by a Digidesign VENUE desk, fully loaded with plug ins and total recall, I allow myself the luxury of carrying the DTC. For the last two shows, I’ve used it on Violin and Cello. But this might change again tomorrow."

As the DTC EQ acts very musically, Chris has no problem using extreme settings. The HiMid filter of the violin channel for instance is turned fully to the left stop, to get rid of the instrument's annoying high mids. The opto-compressor with the tube limiter gives perfect control over dynamics, so the violin fits the band sound perfectly.
"I’ve used the DTC on all my recent tours including The Waterboys, James, Sugababes and Joe Cocker - and I will definitely reserve it some rack space in the future."

To date, PINK has won two Grammy Awards, a Brit Award and nine MTV Video Music Awards; her records go multi-platinum regularly. Newest to her collection is the "Sold Out" Award, this for acts who succeed in selling all tickets, for every single seat of a Venue.

PINK's "Funhouse" tour continues until end of December 2009. The live sound is of CD quality, the show is entertainment at its best – straight, rocking and powerful. Don't miss it!

Good news: we just purchased licenses for Vista drivers from driver manufacturer USB Audio. Now all  TRIO USB users have the possibility to run their TRIO with Vista equipped computers.

At the same time, we got a new Vista driver for our DI-MOD USB digital interface that fits in our EN-VOICE, EN-VOICE MK II and DTC tube channel strips.
 
The Vista drivers are available in the DOWNLOAD section free of charge.

The supplier of our drivers, USB Audio, was hard-working and provided us with a new Intel Core driver to make the TRIO USB. The driver can now be taken from the download section.

One more information for those Apple users interested in TRIO: as all new Intel Mac models feature an optical S/P-DIF digital interface (both Mac Pro as well as Mac Mini, iMac and MacBook/Pro), the red TRIO with S/P-DIF can be applied with these computers as an good alternative to the TRIO USB. This saves you the installation of any drivers since Mac and TRIO S/PDIF can communicate directly via optical cables.

The Brazilian Ivan Santos who has been living and working in Frankfurt am Main/Germany for 10 years is a quite unknown musician in this country. This is totally different in his home country where he is one of the most important figures in the Brazilian culture scene and known as "Grammy Award" winner. 
He was given his treasured award in the category „Best Brazilian Song - Portuguese language" for the composition „Ninguém faz idéia", which he wrote together with the song writer Lenine - a superstar in Brazil.

Now, Ivan Santos has discovered MindPrint for himself. About his new TRIO he says beamingly:  "TRIO is amazingly easy and flexible, the sound of this small all-rounder is unbelievably good!".
Yet further MindPrint equipment found its way into his studio; among it an EN-VOICE MKII which will be applied for future productions as all-round channelstrip.
